Proposed Letter to send to the Mayor and Salinas City Council:
Dear ,
It has come to my attention that there is a Card Room being approved in the City of Salinas. There are a few key issues that I am concerned about:
1. There was City Ordinances that prohibited Gaming Rooms within 600 feet of a School, Church and or public structure that children would be associated. All of these places exist with this property on Monterey Street across from the new parking garage and theater.
2. There are no limits on the tables.
3. There is insignificant funding to the City to support this Gaming Facility.
I request that a continuance of next Tuesday's agenda concerning moving forward on this Gaming Room be considered and approved, to allow for more pubic education and comment.
I am strongly apposed to this Gaming Room as it is proposed at his time.
